Definitions

This Privacy Policy is an integral part of the General Terms and Conditions (GTC, as defined below), and as such, the definitions used in the GTC also apply here.

The following terms, whether used in the singular or plural, shall have the following definitions in this Privacy Policy:

  • Intermediate Archiving: Refers to the transfer of Personal Data, still of administrative interest to “Essence Paris Tours” (such as in the event of a dispute) and/or due to legal obligations, to a separate database—either logically or physically—where access is restricted. This archive is an intermediate step before deletion or anonymization of the relevant Personal Data.

  • GTC: Refers to the General Terms and Conditions of Sale, accessible here.

  • Client: Refers to any adult person registered on the Site and contracting with “Essence Paris Tours” to purchase Services (as defined in the GTC).

  • Essence Paris Tours: Refers to the company Inspire owning the website acting as the Data Controller, as specified in the legal notices accessible here.

  • Account: Refers to the personal account created by any Client on the Site (as per the GTC).

  • Personal Data: Refers to any personal data of the Data Subject, under the Personal Data Regulation, collected and processed by “Essence Paris Tours” via the Site, notably during Account creation and order placement, as defined in the GTC.

  • Specific Rights: Refers to rights granted by the Personal Data Regulation to Data Subjects concerning the processing of their Personal Data.

  • Data Subject: Refers to the person (Client, User as defined in the GTC) whose Personal Data is processed by the Compagnie des Guides.

  • Privacy Policy: Refers to this privacy and data protection policy implemented by the Essence Paris Tours, forming an integral part of the GTC.

  • Personal Data Regulation: Refers to Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 on data protection and privacy, in application of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 (GDPR).

  • Data Controller: Refers to the natural or legal person determining the purposes and means of data processing—in this case, Essence Paris Tours

  • Device(s): Refers to the hardware equipment (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) used by the Data Subject to browse or display the Site or any other third-party digital content.

  • Processing: Refers to any operation performed by the Compagnie des Guides, as the Data Controller, using Personal Data collected from the Site.

  • Users: Refers to all users or visitors of the Site, including Clients (as defined in the GTC).

Who Are We?

In the course of its activity, the Essence Paris Tours (headquartered at 40 rue Alexandre Dumas 75011 Paris) collects and processes Personal Data as Data Controller. The Essence Paris Tours is committed to protecting privacy and uses Personal Data responsibly, confidentially, and for specific purposes.

There are two types of Personal Data collected on the Site:

All data processing is done in accordance with the applicable data protection laws.

Data Storage

The Site is hosted by a service provider (details available here). All necessary precautions are taken to store Personal Data securely and prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or damage. Data will never be sold or used for commercial purposes.

No data is transferred outside the EU unless adequate safeguards (like EU standard contractual clauses) are in place.

Data Security

Essence Paris Tours implements all technical and organizational measures to protect Personal Data from unauthorized access, damage, or alteration.

Online Transaction Security

Stripe and PayPal are used for secure payments. Essence Paris Tours does not have access to your full card number or security code.
